Wachusett Garden Club Membership
The Wachusett Garden Club is open to anyone in the Wachusett area who is interested in gardening. Current members come from Princeton, Holden, Rutland, Winchendon, Sterling, Paxton. If you are interested, you are welcome!
Gardening is good for you - mentally and physically. We are a flexible and easy-going group who enjoy learning and sharing. Some members are too busy working and gardening to attend many meetings - no problem. If you can attend one event or 10, we are happy to see you. Our members include people new to gardening, very knowledgeable gardeners and everyone in between.
Programs include hands-on learning (such as making rustic furniture and kissing balls), educational sessions (gardening to attract birds & butterflies, hostas, canning, grasslands), tours of members' gardens and visits to horticulturally interesting places such as Tower Hill, Mt. Auburn Cemetery). Click on the Events/Calendar tab to see this year's program schedule.
Our major event that is held every year is the annual plant sale, held the second Saturday in May at the Thomas Prince School in Princeton. All profits from this sale go towards scholarships for area students. Most plants are donated from members' gardens so they are guaranteed to grow in your yard. The sale is a great way to get more unusual plants and advice on how to grow them. We welcome plant donations from anyone and welcome help in digging them up, potting & pricing them for the sale and helping at the sale.
Membership in the Wachusett Garden Club is a great way to learn more about gardening, meet new people and have fun!
