Sept 2026 Bridge of Flowers Visit
Our September program took us to the beautiful Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, MA.
The bridge had been closed for a year while it underwent some much-needed structural repairs, but it reopened this spring—and judging by the rave reviews from visitors, it was well worth the wait!
For those who aren’t familiar with it, the Bridge of Flowers began life as an old trolley bridge that had become a bit of an eyesore. A group of local residents had a different vision and started planting flowers and greenery along the bridge. The idea—and the plants—grew! Before long, the once-forgotten bridge had blossomed into a popular destination.
When structural repairs became necessary, the plants were carefully removed and wintered over while the work was completed. This spring, they were replanted, bringing the bridge back to life in a spectacular display of flowers, color, and community spirit.
It was quite a transformation—and a wonderful September adventure!
