Scholarship information:
Scholarship Criteria: The Wachusett Garden Club scholarship is open to all graduating high school seniors who reside in the towns of Holden, Paxton, Princeton, Rutland, Sterling, or is the child or grandchild of a Wachusett Garden Club member, with proof of continuing post-high school education.
Award: Two $500 awards
Award requirements: To be paid upon proof of second semester, freshman year registration
Application requirements:
· It must be typed
· It must be postmarked or emailed by JUNE 1ST
· High School Students: application must be signed by guidance counselor if mailed or sent by guidance office if emailed
· Guidance: your signature or email indicates this student has applied to or been accepted by colleges or technical schools listed
· Application must be signed by student if mailed; emailed applications – as they will be submitted by guidance – will serve as signed
· A short (no more than 250 words) statement or poem on the significance of a garden to you, or your community, or the environment

Application Review: 3-member panel of the Wachusett Garden Club will determine recipients based upon applicant’s success in meeting application requirements and creative expression in the statement or poem. Preference will be given to students pursuing studies in horticulture, botany, agriculture, landscape design, or environmental studies, however children or grandchildren of Club members do not receive preference.
Award Announcement: High school senior recipient will be notified either at
senior award night or graduation, or by mail, depending on high school procedure
